Franchisee
- The Franchise system operates on an equity model, which involves an initial investment and acquisition/franchise fee. The selling franchisee sets the sale price.
- Ongoing fees are paid by the franchisee to Bimbo Canada for the operation of the franchise business.
- The route itself is considered an asset.
- When a franchisee wishes to exit the business, they must follow the legal process of selling their route, known as "Route Transfer".
- The Franchise Agreement and Standard Operating Procedures govern the terms and conditions of the franchise.
Distributor / EXPRESS RETAIL
- Distributorship operates on a non-equity model, requiring a low investment.
- There is no initial acquisition or franchise fee.
- Distributors are not required to pay start-up or ongoing fees to Bimbo Canada for the operation of their distribution business.
- Unlike franchisees, distributors do not own an asset and therefore do not have a route to "sell".
- To exit the business, distributors must provide at least 90 days' written notice to terminate the Distributor Agreement (DA).
- The terms and conditions of the distributorship are governed by the Distributor Agreement and Standard Operating Procedures.

How to Get Started

Online Application
Review this website, our Corporate Brochure & complete an online application. You will need to provide financial information, an up-to-date resume, a Drivers license, a criminal record check, driver's abstract and resume.

Route Experience
Determine what routes you are interested in and prepare your list of questions to ask the franchise route owner. Arrange to go on full-day route rides, from the early AM through to the end of the day. This will ensure that you have an understanding of how the route works and what is required to operate the business.

Interview & Approval
Once you have completed your route rides, you will be scheduled for an interview. If you are approved, you will be legally disclosed on the franchise route you are interested in. Take the time to review the Franchise Disclosure Document in detail as it contains crucial information about franchising with Bimbo Canada.

Training
Before officially purchasing a route, you will participate in a 3-week training program and in order to move forward, you must be officially certified. You will be trained by a peer trainer in conjunction with our comprehensive training manual to set you up for success on Day 1.

Route Takeover
The final day is here! You are officially ready to take over the route. You will continue to be coached by your Market Sales Leader and work closely with them as you continue to learn the business. For a more detailed description of the process please review our Corporate Brochure.

Our Express Retail business is all about small format stores such as small retail businesses and convenience stores, where you'll have the freedom to showcase our products and drive sales growth.

Are you interested in applying to purchase a franchise route?
To apply for a franchise or distributor route, please complete the online application information form below and submit it along with your resume and the required documents listed below via email to cb.franchise@grupobimbo.com. If your application is complete, our franchising team will contact you to discuss your application.

To submit your documents and apply for a franchise or distributor route, please click on the following LINK.
To proceed to the interview process, please ensure that you have completed a minimum of two full day route rides and that you obtain and submit the following documents:
- Criminal Background Check: We can accept a receipt when submitting the application until you have been mailed the document, or use Triton Canada for quick and easy service in minutes.
- Photo ID: Please provide a copy of your birth certificate, passport, or citizenship.
- Resume
- Driver's Abstract: You can obtain this document online or in person at your local driver services center. West, Ontario, Quebec & Atlantic
